Troubleshoot Your GPT200

Covers the GPT200 and GPT200C — 6.5HP Honda GP200 engine petrol pressure washers, 190 Bar, 12 L/min. The GPT200C is the carry-frame van-mount variant. Same engine, same pump, same parts across both.

GPT200 and GPT200C — same engine, same pump, same parts The GPT200C is the GPT200 in a carry frame for van mounting and easy transport. The Honda GP200 engine, pump, gun, lance, hose and nozzles are identical across both models.

What’s Going Wrong?

5 Things To Check Before Anything Else

1. Water on firstTurn the water supply on and bleed air through the gun before starting the engine. Never run the pump dry.
2. Engine oilCheck the oil level before every start. The Honda GP200 has a low-oil cut-out that prevents starting if oil is low.
3. Fresh fuelUse fresh petrol under 30 days old. Stale fuel is the most common cause of starting problems.
4. Choke positionCold start: choke fully closed. Warm start: choke open. Half-choke for cold weather.
5. Inlet strainerUnscrew the inlet and rinse the strainer. A blocked strainer starves the pump and causes pressure loss.
