What's Going Wrong?
5 Things To Check Before Anything Else
1. Power connectionConfirm the machine is plugged into the correct voltage supply — 110V for site transformers, 240V for mains. Do not use a standard extension lead on the 110V model.
2. Dust bag fittedAlways run with a VTM101 dust bag fitted and properly seated. Running without a bag will block the HEPA filter rapidly.
3. HEPA filter cleanIf the extraction velocity monitor turns red, use the filter shaker first. If the red light persists, wash the filter (VTM102) and allow it to dry fully before refitting.
4. Hose and connectionsCheck the hose is locked into the suction port — push in and turn clockwise. Confirm all joints are airtight. Any air leak reduces suction significantly.
5. Tank not fullA full dust bag or tank causes suction loss. Open the machine, remove and dispose of the bag safely (close the gate before removal), and refit a fresh VTM101 bag.
