Troubleshoot Your VTUF
Covers the full VTUF range — VTUF110, VTUF240, VTUF240T, VTUF240THR, VTUF240TF, VTUF415 and VTUF415TCF. Pick the problem below and we’ll show you the most likely cause, the step-by-step fix, and any parts you might need.
All VTUF models covered
The VTUF range shares the same pump family and the same gun, lance, hose and nozzle ecosystem across all voltages. The VTUF240T and VTUF240THR add Total Stop. The VTUF240THR adds a hose reel. The VTUF240TF and VTUF415TCF add a commercial foam system. The VTUF415 steps up to 150 Bar and 15 L/min on three-phase supply. All troubleshooting issues and fixes apply across the range — voltage and accessory differences are noted where relevant.

What’s Going Wrong?
5 Things To Check Before Anything Else
1. Water on firstAlways turn the water supply on and squeeze the trigger to bleed air before switching the motor on. Never run the pump dry.
2. Power supply110V machine on a 110V centre-tap transformer. 240V on a 13A or 16A socket. 415V on a three-phase supply. Check the breaker or RCD has not tripped.
3. Extension leadsUse a heavy-duty drum lead under 25m. Long thin extensions cause voltage drop and prevent the motor starting or reduce pump output.
4. Inlet strainerUnscrew the inlet fitting and pull the strainer. Rinse clear of grit, scale and debris. A blocked strainer starves the pump and causes cavitation.
5. Total Stop modelsOn VTUF240T, VTUF240THR and VTUF240TF: squeeze the trigger to release trapped pressure before switching on, or the Total Stop switch will prevent the motor starting.
