Industrial cleaning equipment for Teesside manufacturing — Middlesbrough
V-TUF supplies industrial pressure washers, wet/dry vacuums, dust extractors and specialist cleaning equipment to manufacturing businesses across Middlesbrough, Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool and the wider Teesside industrial corridor. Teesside is home to one of the UK's most intensive manufacturing economies — stainless steel and nickel alloy processing, petrochemical production, offshore energy fabrication and specialist engineering — with cleaning and extraction requirements that are among the most demanding in UK industry.
Working with nickel alloys, stainless steel or chromium-containing materials? The COSHH obligations for alloy dust are more stringent than for general manufacturing — COSHH guidance → EH40 WELs for metal dusts →
The Teesside manufacturing context
Paralloy Ltd in Billingham is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of centrifugally cast stainless steel and nickel alloy tubes and fittings for the petrochemical and power generation industries — a sector where precision, cleanliness and compliance with occupational health standards for alloy dust are all non-negotiable. British Steel's Lackenby operations on the south bank of the Tees process structural steel at scale. SABIC UK, Sembcorp, PX Group and INEOS at Wilton form one of Europe's largest petrochemical complexes. The emerging Teesworks Freeport site — the former Redcar steelworks — is generating new offshore wind energy component fabrication demand.
Across these operations, the cleaning and extraction requirements share common characteristics: heavy contamination loads (cutting fluids, coolants, metallic dust, chemical residues), large floor areas, high duty cycles, and COSHH obligations that go beyond standard construction or general commercial cleaning. V-TUF equipment is built to meet these demands in daily production use.
Dust extraction for alloy and steel manufacturing
Grinding, cutting and machining of stainless steel, nickel alloys and superalloys generates hazardous dust subject to stringent COSHH WELs. Nickel and its insoluble compounds have a WEL of 0.1 mg/m³ — the same threshold as respirable crystalline silica, and one of the lowest in EH40. Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), generated during grinding and welding of stainless steel and chromium-containing alloys, has a WEL of just 0.01 mg/m³ — ten times lower than the nickel WEL. These are not general manufacturing dusts — they are carcinogenic substances requiring H-Class extraction at source.
H-Class extraction — nickel alloys, stainless steel and chromium-containing materials
H-Class extraction (99.995% filtration at 0.3 microns, sealed disposal) is the correct specification for grinding, cutting, machining and finishing operations on nickel alloys, stainless steel, superalloys and other chromium-containing materials. M-Class is not sufficient. COSHH Regulation 9 requires the LEV equipment to be examined and tested at least every 14 months with records kept for five years — if a machine fails examination, work must stop until it is repaired and re-examined.
V-TUF MIDI HSV — 21L H-Class, 110V and 240V
Compact H-Class dust extractor with H14 HEPA sealed filtration and certified disposal. The correct on-tool specification for grinding and cutting operations on stainless steel, nickel alloys and other carcinogenic-dust-generating materials in Teesside manufacturing. SKU MIDIHSV110 / MIDIHSV240.
V-TUF MAXi — 50L and 80L H-Class
High-capacity H-Class extraction for sustained production-line grinding and cutting operations where a compact machine is insufficient for the output volume.
M-Class — general fabrication and light metalwork
M-Class extraction is appropriate for general fabrication dust, mild steel grinding debris and non-hazardous metallic particulate where the COSHH risk assessment confirms M-Class is sufficient for the specific material and process.

Industrial vacuums — swarf, coolant and factory floor
Alloy and steel machining generates swarf, coolant and cutting fluid residue that must be collected from machine tools, coolant trays, floor channels and production areas. Standard commercial vacuums are not rated for the abrasive load, coolant chemistry or duty cycle of a production machining environment.
V-TUF MAMMOTH 240V Stainless — 80L twin-motor, 3.5kW
80L stainless steel tank construction for chemical resistance in coolant and cutting fluid environments. Twin 1.75kW motors. The primary V-TUF specification for swarf collection, coolant pickup and factory floor wet/dry vacuuming in alloy and steel manufacturing. SKU MAMMOTHSS240.

V-TUF XR11000 — 110L three-motor, 3.3kW
Highest-capacity wet/dry industrial vacuum for large machining halls, foundry floors and high-output production environments. 110L tank, three-motor configuration.
Pressure washing — factory wash-down and yard cleaning
Hot-water pressure washers — cutting fluid and coolant removal
Hot water is the correct tool for removing cutting fluids, soluble oils, coolants and industrial greases from machine tools, fixtures, production floors and yard areas. Cold water alone will not break down these substances effectively regardless of pressure.

Electric cold-water pressure washers — 415V three-phase factory supply
V-TUF VTUF range 415V models connect directly to a three-phase factory supply — no step-down transformer, no extension cable management across large production floors.
Diesel pressure washers — yard and external wash-down
Self-contained diesel units for external yard cleaning, tank farm maintenance, loading bay wash-down and areas without a convenient mains or three-phase supply.
