Applications

Ground support equipment (GSE) wash-down

Tugs, belt loaders, catering trucks, baggage carts and de-icing rigs accumulate hydraulic fluid, engine grime and runway rubber. Regular hot-water wash-down keeps GSE fleets presentable and prevents grease build-up around moving parts and hydraulic fittings from becoming a maintenance or slip hazard.

Apron and hardstanding cleaning

Aircraft parking stands and apron surfaces pick up hydraulic fluid drips, de-icing fluid residue, rubber deposits and general fuel-handling grime. Mobile pressure washing units let ground teams clean stands between turnarounds without the surface staying wet for long, which matters when the same stand is back in use within the hour.

Hangar floor and maintenance bay cleaning

Hangar floors used for line and base maintenance accumulate engine oil, hydraulic fluid and degreaser residue. Hot-water pressure washing breaks down oil-based contamination that cold water alone won't shift, and factory-style industrial vacuums handle swarf and debris from maintenance work between wash-downs.

De-icing fluid residue management

Glycol-based de-icing and anti-icing fluid runs off aircraft and apron surfaces during winter operations. Where it collects on stands, in drainage channels or on GSE, it needs controlled wash-down and disposal rather than being left to degrade naturally — glycol is an environmental discharge concern, not just a housekeeping one.

Interior and cabin turnaround cleaning support

Cabin cleaning teams and ground handling crews supporting quick-turnaround cleaning need compact, reliable vacuums for cabin debris and spill clean-up that can be moved on and off aircraft steps quickly within a tight turnaround window.

  • Environmental Permitting — apron and hardstanding wash-down runoff, and glycol-contaminated water, are controlled discharges under environmental permitting rules.
  • DSEAR & ATEX — cleaning equipment used near fuel-handling areas or in fuel-vapour-classified zones must meet DSEAR requirements.
  • PUWER 1998 — cleaning equipment used as part of ground handling operations is work equipment and falls under PUWER maintenance and inspection duties.
  • Chemical hazard reclassification, August 2026 — degreasers and cleaning chemicals used in hangar and apron operations are affected by the updated GB CLP classifications.
