Legislation that applies

Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016 — Hot water wash-down from farm, fleet and construction environments is trade effluent. Must not enter surface water drains or watercourses.

COSHH Regulations 2002 — Hot water pressure washing with detergent or degreaser requires COSHH assessment. Engine exhaust also constitutes an inhalation hazard — outdoor or well-ventilated use only.

BRC/BRCGS Food Safety Standard — Hot water cleaning at 70–80°C is the biosecurity standard for livestock and food production environments, assessed in farm assurance and BRC audits.
